The Mesothelioma Victims Center is the premier advocate for all victims of mesothelioma in the United States, and the group is urging all US workers, who were exposed to asbestos in their workplace, especially if it was the 1940's, 1950's, 1960's, 1970's, and 1980's to include an annual chest x-ray, as part of their annual physical examination. In addition the group is urging any individual, who has been exposed to asbestos at their work place to let their primary care physician know about the exposure. According to the US Centers for Disease Control between 2000, and 3000 US citizens will be diagnosed with mesothelioma this year. Of this group, about one third will be veterans of the US Navy. The Mesothelioma Victims Center says, "We would not wish a mesothelioma diagnosis on anyone, but all of us need to be aware of it; especially for anyone exposed to asbestos in the workplace."
